gossip girl continues~

to continue my obsession with terrible tv that is oh so good ...

post writers' strike ... 'gossip girl' is back - WOOHOO!!

i have not read the book series (oh, such literary accomplishments~ reminds of 'sweet valley high/twins' and 'the babysitters' club' of my youth), but for whatever reason, i love love love the show! maybe it's because i'm a fan of josh schwartz (yes, i was a huge 'the o.c.' fan ... i'm from 'the o.c.' - maybe that's why? maybe it's because i love adam brody/seth cohen - haha), maybe it's because i have this subconscious desire (and hopefully a reality someday) to live in new york city, maybe it's because i'm a teeny-bopper at heart (i have a feeling it's primarily this last reason - is that bad?) ... no matter, i've been waiting for this show to come back for weeks ... no, months. the irony of the situation is that while i'm not super big on fashion, trends, etc. (as i've mentioned before ... from what i've heard, lots of people are watching it for fashion trends and to look at attractive individuals), this is a show that i almost religiously follow for its story line (is that super lame? maybe ... that's ok). apparently, there are more (in their late-20s) who are just like me.

ok, so, as i write this post, i'll be honest - i have not seen the new episode (i was teaching a class tonight - darn those kids! haha - just kidding) ... yet. so, for all i know, the episode was as terribly good as expected, or just terrible. but that doesn't matter. i can't wait to watch the show, discuss how real (or not real) the different components of the show are, and secretly wish i was the one attending the elite school in the upper east side, making my mark on the world wide web via gossip girl ... 'sigh' ...

ivyleague87 ...

Monday night's Gossip Girl was oh-so-good. Two girlfriends and I sat around eating chinese food on my couch while simultaneously gasping at the drama unfolding before our very eyes. I loved the ending: for the previous 10-minutes I sat screaming at the TV about how Jenny's life is over (as in O-V-E-R) and her mistake is something that causes you to not only switch schools but change countries. I was wrong, it's New York afterall... Can't wait for next week. Ps. Why didn't the boys look like that in high school and why do they STILL not look like that in college??!
